Forthcoming R1 dvd SE...

I read a short interview with Sid Haig over on fangoria.com...

"Although the project is in the very early stages of development and few details are available at this time, Haig has been approached to help with a long-awaited official disc release of Bruce D. Clark’s 1981 Roger Corman-produced sci-fi shocker GALAXY OF TERROR. “The people who are producing that DVD have asked if I would be willing to do some commentary, and I said, ‘Of course,’ ” the actor reveals. Despite longtime fan demand for the film, best remembered for its infamous “maggot rape” scene, no further details were available to Haig at the time of this writing. “They haven’t re-contacted me. I don’t know when their projected release date is or anything like that. It’s still in the works.”

Here's hoping they also restore the MPAA enforced cuts this one suffered...

It's about damn time.

Word! I have an old VHS that I bought of e-bay that was a former rental - awful! I see they had a PAL release, but some good it does me here. I'm not sure about why I want this in the first place, but I have been watching and waiting... They played it on Cinemax about a thousand times when I was in high school (in the mid-80s). I wouldn't care about it so much, but Erin Moran's big scene - worth the price... The thought of a "special edition" with commentary makes me want it even more! How anyone could make commentary without cracking up...

Has there been any further news?

When was this?

Go to [email protected] and ask them to work on the Apu trilogy and Sholay.

reply

What was said in the previous post? It's been deleted.

BTW if anyone is going to the Fangoria Weekend of Horrors this weekend in Chicago, Sid Haig & Robert Englund are both there. Maybe they can say if they have recorded commentary yet or not.

reply

I'm afraid I don't know. I was basing this on the rumor in the first post. Still, if anyone has a chance to ask Haig, that'd be cool, though I doubt that he'd know that much.

Go to [email protected] and ask them to work on the Apu trilogy and Sholay.
