What happened to Michèle Baumgartner? I saw this movie on danish tv a few days ago. After that I surfed the Internet to learn more about her because I thought she was a very charming actress with a nice aura. Her last movie is from 1983: "Les Mots Pour Le Dire". The only information I could find was here: http://20six.fr/chezbruno/art/187250. Translated to english it says that she died a few months after the movie "La Femme d'à côté" was finished. The source is this book: "françois truffaut" de antoine de baecque et serge toubiana éditions gallimard. That's all.

it is not accurate to say she died shortly after The Woman Next Door was finished. She died in 1985 according to IMDb's page on her.

This is a forgotten but great film, apparently, forgotten evidenced by the lack of posts in it, if that is a suitable guide. It is really compelling, and well acted, well directed. I highly recommend it.
