This is the type of movie that should be remade

I completely agree. This movie is based on the Scott Spencer novel written in 1979. The movie is NOTHING like the book. In contrast to the movie, the book spans about 10-15 years and goes into more depth. Its very dark and realistic, unlike the sappy movie. Unfortunately the book has been pretty much forgotten about since the movie ruined it's reputation. Apparently Spencer's novel did very well when it first came out, though. I definitely recommend it to people who enjoy good fiction b/c this is definitely not a cheesy romance. You can purchase a copy on Amazon.com. It should then be remade into a movie based on the book.

I agree. I really liked this movie, but it might also be a good idea to remake it. But it won't be easy to find characters like handsome Martin Hewitt and breathtaking Brooke Shields to play the roles. The audience will be expecting dreamy-looking new actors to play the roles of David and Jade. And it would be really nice if they made the movie more like the way the book is.
