Castles used in filming

I was wondering if anyone new which locations were used to film?Specifically Cragenmoor in the beginning?I know most of it was filmed on the Isle of Skye,but the only Castles listed there are Eileen Donan and The MacLeod family seat,neither look like the ones in the movie.I loved this movie as a child,being the second I ever saw in a theater (Star Wars being first),and was delighted to find it on dvd finally and can share it with my kids.

I don't know much about the locations, but they may have been sets constructed for the film. The location shooting was probably mostly the wilderness exteriors and the village.

Most of it was filmed here in North Wales, not Scotland... only a few scenes were shot there. The castle is called Dolwyddelan castle.
