Who was the actor that played The Mad Trapper? He gets killed in the end and they think its Johnson.

in the movie EVERYONE did know the mad trapper... but they thought the real mad trapper was Johnson.. when it wasnt him it was the other guy that no-one suspected to be the mad trapper

Henry Beckman's character of Bill Lusk is actually based on a real person involved in the true crime incident, though tangentionally: He was an old hermit who had gone snowblind and was evacuated from his cabin by the Mounties during the first weeks of the 51 day manhunt for the real Albert Johnson. But he wasn't mad and didn't go around chopping people's gold teeth out, and after the manhunt was concluded and he'd recuperated he returned to his hermitage and died peacefully as an old man.
