George is the one who dumped the body for Cord

George helped Cord and sort of betrayed his friends. Not a criminal, but a weak and dominated person.

This wasn't even implied in the book and maybe only hinted at in the movie: George's extreme nervousness when Bone brings Cutter and dead girl's sister to the yacht club restaurant was eye-opening though...
Implied/actualized in both the book and the movie was the fact that "Georgie" was under JJ's thumb since childhood, though.
It's a fascinating speculation, but "JJ Cord" was vaguely identified by Bone/Bridges in the movies and his rainy-night identification of Cord is expounded on a little more in the book.
All this aside, one of the best movies ever made.

Right. In the book and original script, George was involved. He even admitted to the killing in the final scene in Cord's office. Thankfully, Ivan Passer realized this would have ruined the movie, and never shot it (I got this straight from Passer himself).

interesting. didn't know that.

The circulation of confidence is better than the circulation of money.-James Madison

That's not implied in the movie at all.

Nor in the book.

George just comes off as too sweet. Afraid of Cord, for sure, but not someone who'd just dump a girl's body then commiserate with Bone and Cutter over Mo being incinerated.
