Interesting, I always heard it as Hannibal Smith too.

The scene in the movie condorman at 54 minutes and 32 seconds where the guy in the eye patch is looking at the comic book and reads the cover and says Bazooka Boy Meets Hannibal Smith is the origin of the name Hannibal Smith. The A-Team came out in 1983 two years later. Stephen Cannell must have thought this would be an excellent Name for main character. Stephen Cannell also wrote The Greatest American Hero. Maybe he felt like the author of condorman stole from his show so he stole from their show in return.
