christiane's style of dress
alot of posts about christiane f. make references to how girls began to "emulate her style of dress" after the success of the book and film. i'm just curious, what kind of style does she have?

sharei'm not sure what you'd call it but i noticed a lot of similarities to styles that are in fashion now (atleast in australia) like high waisted skinny jeans, pussy bow blouses and leather jackets.
shareSkin-tight jeans, high-heeled boots, men's style jackets, scarves - sort of a cross between rocker, punk and hippy...
When morning comes twice a day or not at all
her style was a grungy version of what was in then. it was the 70s, so skinny pants were definitely in. she wasn't so much of a stand out considering the times. my mother used to dress that way. it's really not that unique, it was common then.
shareI fully agree with you on that. I lived in Berlin 1977-80 and regularly went to Sound on Genthiner Strasse with my German girlfriend and her mates. Great place and the dress sense was progressive, New Wave, punk, post punk, rock chic, grunge (which was standard student clothes in those days) and just about anything. That was the great attraction of the place, plus the music of course. I drank with AC/DC down there, met Bowie and witnessed a lot of what went on with the kids. We tried to help them but afraid 'H' was always the stronger influence. I am currently writing a novel about my time in that great city and miss it terribly to this day. Maybe I will go back one day, but Sound burned down years ago and nothing will ever replace it believe me.
I know 'Heroes' is quite rightly associated with the film about Christiane but for me it will always be 'A Whole Lot of Rosie' by AC/DC that brings back memories of Sound. Slamming back too many JD shots with a half naked Angus Young and Bonn Scott might have something to do with that!
