Christiane F: recent interview (may 2007)

Christiane F was interviewed recently for german TV:

She's on methadone (a heroin substitute), having an 11 year old son, she was living in Greece for some years, now she is having a "normal" live, living from the income she still has from the book (but that doesn't make her rich appearently), and she's in good health (she seemed a bit tired, though).

Almost all of the other characters from the book seem to be dead by now.

I was wondering about her life after the book and movie and if she was still alive and I couldn't find anything on the internet, so thanks for this link!

There are more news:

Supposedly she started taking drugs again recently, and the german youth welfare office took her kid away from her.

That's so sad. Hopefully she will be able to pull herself together and get him back.

After the German welfare office took the kid from her, she took (kidnapped) him from the institution and fled with him and her boyfriend to the drugcapital of the world; Amsterdam.
Friends went there to search for her and posters were hung up all over the city.
Finally she came to her senses and took the train back to Berlin, just before her arrival there she phoned the police who picked up her son.

What a shame, that after a 15 year clean period, and after having a kid, that she still went back to drugs; unbelievable

That's the power of addiction. She probably thought she could just do it "every once in awhile" now that she had been clean for awhile.
