Movies that DO glamorise drugs. . . .

Theres alot of debate about this film on these here boards about whether or not it Glamorises drug use. You always get this argument with films dealing with drug use, but it usually always leans towards NOT really glamoriseing, theres usually some downfall.

Are there any films out there that you think actually DO glamourise hard drug use.

Weed movies not so much, theres a million stoner comedys that make weed smoking look, in fact, way much more fun than it is!

I agree, but why do you say they don't glamourise smoking weed? That's exactly what they do.

It is impossible to make a drug film without "glamorizing" the subject. The glamour, the allure is what tempts people into the scene. Drugs ARE glamorous in the beginning. If they made the film compleletly glamour-free, people would wonder why anyone would ever do it in the first place. But a film that seems to unabashadly glamorize drugs? Oliver Stone's "The Doors."

film-films I think not. I think pretty much every movie I've seen shows someone getting in trouble or killed because of drugs. Latin-american movies sometimes show people doing drugs with no consequences.

Try watching Terence Mackenna if you want people vouching for drugs tho...

Christiane F definitely does NOT glamorize drugs. Same goes for Trainspotting and Drugstore Cowboy.

A movie that DOES glamorize the scene: Enter the Void

"Salton Sea" makes the meth addicts look cool, but maybe that's because films often show how the characters perceive the world, rather than reality itself.

There's a gay documentary / porn movie called Slammed, which has guys injecting crystal meth and *beep* like crazy. They're all good looking, in great shape, and having a great time. It totally glorifies sex on drugs, and doesn't show any kind of down-side or problem with drugs.

Pulp Fiction glamorizes heroin and cocaine pretty well. Vincent is able to shoot up H and then function normally afterward, all cool and happy. Not how it works.

Rofl. That's exactly how it works.
