who would you want to be cast in it?

Just wondering although I doubt there ever will be but yeah if there was who would you want to be in it?

They couldn't remake this, it wouldn't work. The sense of time and place is too strong. If it was remade it would be too glossy with 'hot'20-somethings playing the leads. ech!

This movie is a classic. If it is remade again the original movie it self will lose its value and image!

Nobody.
A remake of this masterpiece would be as much of an instant disaster as a new version of Casablance.
Natja's performance can't be enhanced in any way, the dirty looks of 1980s Berlin could never be duplicated.

i agree.
it they ever film a remake it won't work. the sense of time will be lost and be blindfoldad by hollywood glam that will rouine the strong effect this movie had.
and nothing can top the book,even the origanl laket.
so i can't imagine it being filmed now days. all the darkness the 80's version had was perfect.

Nobody! If they ever remade this, it'd be too commercialized, and as someone else said, too glossy. Part of what made this film so real is how dingy it all looked. Nowadays, it'd look too HD and fancy. And as if anyone could play the characters as well as the actors in the movie did.

I can just see it now, Miley Cyrus walking round Berlin trying to get a fix while hip hop blares out of every speaker. Bleurgh.
