anyone re-watched this
I think I'm going to have to revisit this film at some point in future. Did you feel any different after another watch?
shareI rewatched yesterday after ..I don't know maybe 25 and was hooked .This movie was one of the reasons that hold me to go down this road.
I am German so this whole package with the town and everything was really familiar to me and I could relate on Christiane.
I wanted my kids to see how drug use really looks like.
Yes, I watched it as a young underage kid studying German. It evoked shock but never affected me to try drugs. Perhaps it had a counter-effect.
It seemed gruesome at times, in particular the teenage prostitution.
I do recall appreciating David Bowie even more after the film, and I purchased his 70s hits.
Two decades later, when I watched it again, I was desensitised to some extent.
I read recently that the director wanted to capture the realism of the environment at the Zoo-Banhof, that many of the extras in the scenes were actual street kids who worked as prostitutes to support their drug addiction.
