shareBeing completely honest it's been a while since I last saw "Christiane F.". I haven't had the guts to re-watch it since then. Aside from "Das Experiment" it's probably the most disturbing movie I've ever seen - and considering that I normally have an affinity for horror-films this actually means something!
shareIn late 70's when Christiane F. published her story not only that AIDS wasn't spread all over the world, but it wasn't recognized as a disease at all. In fact, first few unusual cases of Kaposi sarcoma (later found out to be related to AIDS) have been reported in 1981.
And, as much as I remember, her sister didn't die, neither in the movie nor in the book.

Do you think of Brittish post-nuclear drama? If so, it is a great movie indeed, but I can't see connection to Christiane F. And, if you are talking about most disturbing movies regardless genre (no relations to addicts and Christiane F.), there was a well-visited board "Most disturbing films", but you are a little late, it has disappeared recently; I would suggest you to check Haneke's "Siebente Kontinent" if you want to lose all hope you've ever had.
shareThe only time you see her little sister is when she packs a bag in the flat and then gets picked up to go and live with her estranged father, thats the last you hear of her, so she certainly doesnt die, at least not in the film, but I must read the book, I expect it covers much more of her life, that a 2 hour movie cant possibly contain.

You can go to Yosemite N.P. and watch the rocks. You can imagine how would it be to see another rock in Alps or somewhere else; you could imagine eagles flying around rocks; you could even think how this rocks could be used for buildings, bridges, but that doesn't mean you don't admire the beauty of nature.

Christiane is still alive, and has a son (born in 1996), but it's questionable whether she's totally clean. Or at least it depends on the source of your info. It seems that the real-life Detlef has left his junkie past behind.

I for one loved this movie, I've seen it so many times, and used to own the book, which I've just rebought again after searching years for a copy, the books rare as anything. I relate to this story in a lot of ways and feel she was very brave to come out into the open with her life. shareWhen I was 15,16 & 17 the book was my bible. I have easily read it over 30 times . I can still open any page and read a line and know exactly whats going on.
I wanted the movie really bad but could not find it anywhere till one day I found it in a Blockbuster of all places. I rented it and wanted to keep it so bad that I went back to Blockbuster and told them I'd lost it and that I would pay for it. I knew it couldn't be too much since it's not a huge movie and many people havent even heard of it.
Turns out it only cost $5.00.
The movie is a decent depiction of the book. Good acting. I would still recommend reading the book before seeing the film.
