The Best Drug Addiction Films Ever Made.

My list:

- The Man With The Golden Arm
- Christiane F.
- The Panic In Needle Park
- Requiem For A Dream
- Drugstore Cowboy

reply

Ha! I jjust bought The Panic in Needle Park and Drugstore Cowboy yesterday, what an uplifting selection!

I know someone's going to come on here and suggest Trainspotting, but I want to pre-empt it with a no from me. Aged really poorly, without a solid story imo. That being said, killer cast, setting and soundtrack.

reply

Don't be silly, Trainspotting is a classic and *beep* over all those movies

reply

Midnight Cowboys

LOL. I think there was only one.

I'm a bit biased towards opiate movies. Although I have some personal history with cocaine also, it just doesn't make for as interesting or "romantic" movie. In real life cocaine stories are generally as follows: First week "wow this is fun". Second and continuing weeks "What an *beep*

With that being said, most of the best movies have been mentioned. The only one I think missed so far is "Permanent Midnight" which came out of nowhere for me, but was a pretty damned good movie. A true story about one of the writers for "Alf".
