George Lucas in Plagarism shocker!

OK - perhaps not, but am I the only one that thinks the musical number by the cave dwellers as they sat around the fire sounds remarkably like the Ewok celebration at the end of (the original) Return of the Jedi?
Caveman was made 2 years earlier!!
And the end shots of the sequence look very similar too!
What a shocker eh?
I need a bath.

You would have to talk to John Williams about the music. He is the person who wrote the music for Return of the Jedi, not George Lucas. Also, "plagiarism" refers to written passages or ideas, that have not been sited. If you check the Credits for Return of the Jedi, the is a mention of thanks to John Williams' good friend Lalo Schifrin, the composer for Caveman, for the good idea for the Ewok celebration song.

So really the subject of this post should read: John Williams...nope, that's it.

What? George Lucas didn't write the music? And who is this John Williams any way?
I thought George made Star Wars, that means he invented the Dykstra-flex camera system and played Han Solo AND Chewbacca - no mean feat I can tell you.

While we're being pedantic...

Plagiarism
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: copying
Synonyms: appropriation, borrowing, counterfeiting, cribbing, falsification, fraud, infringement, lifting, piracy, stealing, theft.

and 'sited' is spelt with a c.

Other than that, a well rounded response to my original (tongue in cheek) post.

Ah - that feels better.

I don't know if you can think of any greater humiliation than to be stuffed in your own arse.

Just saw it. Thought the same thing. Thats why i'm here.

Which is kind of wierd because Lalo Schifrin did the music for "THX 1138".

I'd seen this movie a million times as a kid and just watching it now I'm like "Hey! ISn't that the Ewok's tune??" Too funny!

Dainty things never shrink from Lux!

It's been too long since I watched Return of the Jedi to remember the Ewok's music... But... I do have a Dave Koz CD that has a song on it that always reminds me of the Caveman tune... Very catchy! :-)
