Saw This Once - in 1981- but still remember....

caveman: Zug-Zug.
advanced caveman: Zug-Zug?
caveman (more enthusiastically, making pelvic thrusts): MMMMHHHH!! ZUG-ZUG!!
advanced caveman (dawning comprehension): Ohhh. Okay 'Zug-Zug'.

and let's not forget the giant dragonfly on Ringo's face which his friends helpfully squash!!

and yes I do remember Barbara Bach. Was she not married to Ringo at the time? Some triv masters here might know.

If you've remembered "Zug-Zug" from one viewing 25 years ago then Caveman must have left an impression on you. See it again though because you forgot one detail, the dragonfly landed on Dennis Quaid's face and it was Ringo who helpfully squashed it. Ringo and Barbara first met while making this film and were married around the time it was released.

Yes I only seen it once also but we did laugh quite a lot and that dragonfly scene was indeed hilarious.

I only saw this once in 1981 as well, I would have been 8 years old. Until this very second I would have sworn that was 'Catherine' Bach in this movie. I could even picture it in my head. (Or maybe I was just picturing Raquel Welch from 'One Million Years B.C.' with Daisy Dukes head.)

I saw this movie when I was very young, during the early 90s but I am really surprised to find out that Ringo Star was one of the actors in the movies. I still can't imagine him being one of the characters in Caveman, but still it was really humourous and entertaining.

Still a very funny movie. Just saw about 20 or 30 minutes of it on cable about an hour ago. Some great moments. It's similar in a lot of ways to any of the Beatles films in tone. Brilliant and sophomoric and silly at once. Ringo's in it---that's worth the view right there!! And Barbara Bach has always been mega-hot. She's sneaking up on 60 now, and she's still hot.

Defintiely worth seeing.

Barbara Bach or Shelley Long, lol.. nice choice. I don't think Ringo and Barb's marriage lasted very long though, did it?
We're watching it now on dvd. It's definitely one of my favorite nonsense comedies with a great supporting cast as well as the one and only Ringo.

The most memorable scene for me was when they start playing the percussion song with common noises around the campfire.

I once had the great hilarious enjoyment of re-creating this song quite spontaneously with a group of friends that I was camping with while river rafting. What was amazing was that so many of us (maybe 12 total) recognized the reference to this obscure movie and started joining in!
