i just wanted to see if anyone else who has or has seen this movie got a weird oompa-lumpa vibe off of the little girl in the movie. it almost made the little girl even creepier. the almost orange tint in her face the shape of her head, weird.....
Elizabeth Hoy truly was adorable yet a vicious little birthday girl in this movie. I think she was the most effective of the three kids - even while watching her Dad get murdered, she had that twisted little grin on her cute face. I love the scene when she attempts to surprise Joyce (Lori Lethin) and strangle her with a jumprope, only to look utterly diappointed when Joyce manages to escape. I am surprised Elizabeth didn't continue to pursue acting for much longer.
There is a scene where she is making a certain expression and I swear she looks like "Cha-ka" from "Land of the Lost". She and the actress who played the mother were a perfect pair; they were both orange with hair that looked like bleached cotton candy.
I agree with the poster who said she was the most effective of the kids, she was great. I think Steven was the most pointless of the three and Curtis was a bit of a ham.
You know, it's funny, I thought for SURE I recognized that little girl from somewhere, so I did some checking on the IMDB, turns out she had a minor role in the film The Blue Brothers (she was in the fancy restaurant with the well dressed family, the one who John Belushi character is harassing by saying, "How much for your women?")
i thought I had seen her before too but it seems some where else other than blues brothers so I came here to check and I just don't know where I am recognizing her from but wow this movie was a shock and not sure how I missed it in the 80's! LOl
All three of them were creepy. But what was really creepy is the obvious blind spot these parents had for these evil offspring. And scarier yet, is art imitates life far too close!

I agree. She had the most off-putting face and facial expressions I've ever seen. I only recently saw BB and her performance and appearance is the creepiest I've ever seen. No scary make-up needed! The little girl in Toby Dammit is a distant second.
I agree...her and the Sweet Alice girl do resemble. I also think she was very creepy looking in the scene when they were getting ready to kill her father. SC
