When David was trying to get arrested...

...why didn't he just punch the police officer in the face? Take his clothes off in public? Do anything other than yelling silly insults? I can't think of a single police officer who would get punched in the face by a seemingly crazy man and just let it slide.

reply

Agreed.
Weakest part of the movie.

reply

David Naughton's the weakest part of the movie, imo.

how could he be??

he's the central character in a great movie

reply

I watched it tonight the first time in years and after he tried to slit his wrist, I asked shy didn't he just pull the knife out on the policeman

reply

Why? It wasn't in the script.

reply

Punch the police officer in the face? I think David was shopping for a night in jail. Not a severe beating then a year in jail. Understandable from my perspective.

He killed sixteen Czechoslovakians. Guy was an interior decorator.

reply

Also, he still had some doubt about his role in killing those people. The fact that he didn't go all out on the cop is understandable in light of his doubts.

reply

He was irrational and wasnt thinking straight..
Its funny to watch because these days(especially in leeds) you can get locked up just for blinking.

reply

I hear you can get thrown in jail just for saying you're english these days.

Reality is the new fiction they say, truth is truer these days, truth is man-made

reply

Too bad this wasn't an English Werewolf in America. The cop probably would have shot and killed him for yelling insults, then nobody would have been killed that night.

reply

Not necessarily. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=a81_1441819338

If not get you shot.

And while he was in the UK, he was still an American and probably had more idea of American laws than British.
