Deleted Tramp Scene

This question is aimed at the real diehard fans of the film. Does anyone have any further info on the graphic murder of the tramps which was deleted after the US test screenings?? It's interesting that the only real mention of this scene anywhere is in the Beware The Moon documentary when Landis talks about the werewolf grabbing one of the tramps taking it offscreen then throwing it back into shot missing limbs etc

Paul Davis who created Beware The Moon says that he interviewed 25 people for the doco but Landis was the only one who could recall the scene or remember anything about it. It's interesting that for what seems like such an impressive effects scene with missing limbs etc and which caused the audience to gasp and chatter among themselves for minutes afterwards, that there's no behind the scenes shots, publicity stills or further discussion about the scene from Rick Baker or the crew. Hopefully the new Beware The Moon book will shed more light on this scene.

If anyone out there has further info about this scene I'd love to know more details. It's starting to rival the lost spider pit scene in King Kong for missing scenes that horror fans would love to see.
