Have just watched this great film for the nth time.
A remake is a crazy idea. I'm not saying that it is not possible to make a good werewolf movie today, just not a remake of this one for so many reasons!

THAT'S ENOUFF!!! It WILL be terrible, Hollywood has officially run out of ideas.

Good? Bad? I'm the guy with the gun!

This is great news, something to get excited about actually. It looks like the people involved either have ties to the original or do great work in horror genre today. I think it could be promising and personal, I'm stoked for it.

I made the mistake of being hopeful back in the mid-90s when I found out they were working on An American werewolf in Paris. The CG in it was so bad the werewolves looked like cartoons. I sincerely hope they use traditional practical effects this time.

I remember that too. It wasn't awful, but compared to the original it wasn't good at all. AAWIP wasn't a remake though...basically a part two. My main pet peeve with that movie though was the lack of connectivity to the original, I thought maybe the girl was going to be the daughter of the nurse in AAWIL but I'm not sure they ever said she was. I also didn't like the drug references to induce the transformation, although the scene in the club was pretty cool. The CGI was not good, at all - very pre-underworldish quality. Point break was also a disappointment that comes to mind very recently. I did however love the 2004 dawn of the dead remake, it was better than the first one IMHO. I also loved the remake of The Amityville horror, and Texas Chainsaw massacre. I think sometimes horror movies are easier to remake because the actors aren't always A list.
