Nazi werewolf scene

Was anyone else ever freaked out by that scene where the wolves dressed as nazis come to the house and kill the family? That scene used to scare the crap out of me when I was younger. I saw it recently (27 now) and it still freaked me out but not in the same way as it did when I was a kid.

It was a great scene. Especially when he wakes up in the hospital room thinking he had a nightmare then another one crashes through the window and kills the nurse. A nightmare within a nightmare.

He killed sixteen Czechoslovakians. Guy was an interior decorator.

Is that a corgi in your pic? Cute dog

reply

Yes, it is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. One of those tail lacking canines own me.

It freaked me out as a kid. Jack scared me as well when he shows up all messed up.

I bought the Bluray and watched the movie for the first time, today, and that scene was quite harsh and absurd at the same time. This is a brilliant movie, horror comedy at its best. I didn't expect it to be so.... ultraviolent :-) ... I'm also 27, by the way.

That whole scene scared me more than the werewolf! I hadn't had a more helpless feeling in a long time watching the family get slaughtered.

That scene gave me nightmares for months. I saw the film when I was about 6/7 years old. 38 now. Even when I see the film nowadays, that scene still takes me right back to being a scared pooless little kid, lol.

That scene was disturbing for me as well, but the whole movie leads up to the intial transformation, which scared the balls 😢 off me as a child. I was probably 8 or 9 when my aunt babysat us, and rented this movie for me and my brother to watch, along with dawn of the dead, original. I didn't sleep for about 2 weeks, and forget going outside after dark. hahaha.

I'm 37 now.

yeah, saw it when i was a kid, am an adult now, one of the most disturbing scenes ive ever seen.

reply

Yes, scared the crap out of me when I saw this as a kid and still scares me!

reply

Yep, scared the crap out of me when I was young as well. It's the fact it comes out of absolutely nowhere (didn't realise he was Jewish until I watched it as an adult), and does the double fake out, that makes it so effective.

OMG yes! I must have watched this for the first time aged 10 or so (as the oldest child I was in charge of choosing the weekend vhs, until my mum actually realised I was picking horror and corrupting my siblings!)
This scene stayed with me for years after. It was terrifying, but I knew it was a dream.
Brilliant...
