Due to technical issues, reception went out during the section of the movie about Teresa.
Can someone please tell me what was reported about her in the news that made her commit suicide?

Reception came back when Paul Newman was roughing up Sally Field and talking about how autopsies were done.
It was a very intense scene where he was yelling at her about did she ever think about "how that would make her feel".
I don't remember but I know she was in the bathtub. He said that she didn't want to leave a mess.
Sally the reporter (and her editor) only saw this very fragile, troubled woman as an element in the story. Meg exposed what she may have felt was significant, but not as important as the weeping woman in front of her believed it was (after all the people she knows wouldn't bat an eye). She (Meg) did not really look at her. If she had she would have known better then to publicly violate her.
