Sleepless in Peckham

So Delboy, in an attempt to save Rodney and Cassandra from any more hassle with the upcoming auction of their flat, proceeds to ignore and hide the many solicitor's letters that have come for both of them, not realising that it was the last will and testament of Uncle Albert who each left them sizeable nest eggs because he wisely invested his share from their first fortune from the watch?

How stupid is that? In fact, how stupid is Delboy? If they hadn't seen the solicitors at all and been evicted, they would've lived on the streets in absolute squalour for the rest of their lives, and lost out on the £300,000 or so they had waiting for them!

It's not only that, Delboy's thrown away fortunes before, like the £15,000 from To Hull and Back, and that £50,000 from the gameshow whose hosts admitted Rodney got the answer right in the first place!

I always thought that people liked OFAH because they want to see the Trotters do well, but it's aggravating when Delboy keeps unwittingly depriving them OF these fortunes, especially when they've been trying to make money from dodgy goods for years upon years!

Basically, what is John Sullivan trying to tell us?

reply

John Sullivan was telling us that Del Boy could be an idiot at times.
