Or was it a false confession so as not to be a grass while not getting into trouble because he had immunity?

I believe Delboy did steal the microwave but I am not so sure he would have gotten immunity that easily.

I'd say Del stole it. It's kind of a funnier joke that way.

Though, he wasn't often shown to steal. He'd deal in goods that he knew were hooky, but you rarely saw him stealing the stuff himself.
