'It doesn't do anything, that's the beauty of it'
Can anyone here who has it on tape or DVD confirm that this actual line is in the miniseries?
Thx

It sounds very familiar...it actually sounds like something in a Terry Gilliam movie like Brazil...
...hmm...
Are you referring to the scene where Arthur presses the red button on The Heart Of Gold? I think I remember in the book that button was provided by "The Pointless Button Corporation" That could be where you remember it from but honestly it does sound like a very Dougles Adams line.
shareThat line is the all time, great internet mystery. Poeple have devoted years trying to track down that line, only to come up empty.
Just google the line and see what pops up. It turns out that NOBODY said it, but everyone *thinks* they heard it.

yeah, i've heard that it's a mixture of things, from Willy Wonka to Hitchhikers, but doesn't actually exist.

I seem to rember a line on the record version (which is not exactly the same as the radio or tv versions) along the lines of "it doesn't MEAN anything thats the beauty of it", this was said by the mice when they were trying to invent a new question fo the answer 42, "how many roads must man walk down" was one of the sugested questions.
shareThere are also lines like this in "the fall and rise of reginald perrin", around the time when he opens the first "grot shop".
sharePlease forgive me for driving you mad now... but you forgot to read Dirk Gently 1& 2 and Salmon of doubt.. and last chance to see.
I guess it´s in Last chance... lol
