Normally we count in Base 10, or decimal, system: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 (ten numerals). After that we have 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 etc.
In Base 13 it would look like this: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 A B C (or any other three characters of your liking, as long as there is thirteen numerals), and then 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 1A 1B 1C 20 etc.
