Marathon Man?

Not sure if this was asked before. But, was G.A.H. teacher based on Dustin Hoffman in Marathon Man? I seem to recall William Katt's tough students making fun of their teacher for being a runner and calling him "twinkle toes." In Marathon Man, Dustin Hoffman's tough neighbors make fun of him as well and refer to him as "twinkle toes." Also, both had similar professions. William Katt was a history teacher and Dustin Hoffman was a Graduate Student studying history. (Presumably would go on to be a history professor.) And finally, William Katt's partner was an FBI man and Dustin Hoffman's brother was a CIA man. I am just wondering if G.A.H. got these aspects of the character from Marathon Man?
