Pam and Ralph didnt Seem So...Well, y'know...

Was it because it was more or less a show aimed at kids or were they just 'old fashioned' like that? The two of them didnt really seem like a couple that had been together for awhile,re-watching some of the episodes they just didnt seem physically into each other or very effectionate.

It was 1981 - TV was very tame.

Tell that to the people who produced Dynasty and Dallas.

Well, Dynasty and Dallas aired later in the evening. Expect for a brief spell (Sept-Nov '82) GAH was an 8pm show. I suppose it had to be 'family-friendly' and all that jazz.

But having said that, I'm not sure what you are looking for. I just watched 'The Lost Diablo' episode and - at the start, in the bus - Pam is draped all over Ralph. They sure look like a couple to me! In fact, it looks like she adores him.

Did you want bedroom scenes? Hardly needed, I think.

You should see the episode 'Plague', particually the end sequence in the hospital.

Bill mentions how Ralph and Pam keep locking themselves in the audio/visual room watching the same Tom & Jerry cartoons over and over again. I wonder what they might have been doing in there.

And you've just gotta love the final freeze-frame on Ralph's face when Pam says: “Let's go watch cartoons.”

Wait a minute... who am I here?

Yeah, I just watched Plague. Great, great episode. And you are right about that final scene: Ralph and Pam are very physical. It's so cute.

Still better than anything on TV today.

I'd say it was more like TV was just barely out of the times where married characters couldn't even sleep in the same bed much less show a lot of affection towards each other than lack of chemistry except maybe at the beginning when they didn't really know each other that well or even about it being geared more towards kids.
