I see that it's called "red" but I always thought it looked orange-ish to me. Was it my tv settings or was it really orange-ish?

The Suit was definitely red, so it's the 'TINT' setting on your TV that was making it appear orange.

It's as red as it can be. That said, there was a sketch for a different version of the suit that was BROWN with red and I think white or brown trim. The emblem also was based on an ashtray design compared to the present day.
I know Katt wasn't a huge fan of the suit; however the original design would've looked far worse on him.
