Why was it only three seasons? Ratings?

Partly it could have gone on longer even with the ratings but William Katt really wanted out and I think Connie Sellecca also was ready to go.

If it was up to me I think the series could have gotten 2 or 3 more good season with some good writers.....I can only wish.

Katt and Sellica just wanted TGAH as a springboard 4 their careers. Sellica went on 2 Hotel. Katt got House & Perry Mason but nothing spectacular.
Culp, some facetime with ygr viewers.
