Who knows the lyrics to the theme song????

I have been trying to remember all of the lyrics to "The Fall Guy" for quite a while now! Anybody care to give me a link to them or post them here?

ALSO..........Did Lee Majors SING the theme song himself and wasn't it offered for sale on a 45 rpm record? I seem to recall this but once again I'm not sure.

Anyone recall?

Thanks.

The Unknown Stuntman (Lee Majors)

Well, I'm not the kind to kiss and tell
But I've been seen with Farrah
I've never been with anything less than a nine
So fine

I've been on fire with Sally Field
Gone fast with a girl named Bo
But somehow they just don’t end up as mine

It's a death-defying life I lead
I take my chances
I die for a living in the movies and TV
But the hardest thing I ever do
Is watch my leading ladies
Kiss some other guy
While I'm bandaging my knee

I might fall from a tall building
I might roll a brand new car
'Cause I'm the unknown stuntman
That made Redford such a star

I've never spent much time in school
But I've taught ladies plenty
It's true I hire my body out for pay (hey, hey)

I've gotten burned over Cheryl Tiegs
Blown up for Raquel Welch
But when I wind up in the hay,
It's only hay (hey, hey)

I might jump an open drawbridge
Or Tarzan from a vine
'Cause I'm the unknown stuntman
That makes Eastwood look so fine

They'll never make me president
but I got the best first ladies.
Some days I've got 'em
as far as the eye can see, oohee!
A morning dive with Jackie Smith,
I crash in the night with Cheryl,
But in the end they never stay with me.

I might fall from a tall building
so Burt Reynolds don't get hurt,
I might leap a mighty canyon
so he can kiss and flirt.
While that smooth talkers kissing
my girl I'm just kissing dirt,
Yes, I'm the lonely stuntman
that made a lover out of Burt.

Were those last couple of verses played on TV?

Thank you for taking the time to post those lyrics! Very well done indeed!!!!

However, I agree with pjd55....I too do not recall those last couple of verses. Perhaps we didn't hear them at all as pjd55 suggests and what we are seeing is the COMPLETE version of the lyrics?

Anybody care to comment.........

P.S. They ought to re-run these shows. If they can re-run Macgiver and Knight Ryder why not this?!!!!!!!!

The last verses were rarely played. They were usually reserved for the start of a new season. There was also a monologue by Lee Majors that followed the theme song, but that was also condensed in the later seasons. Here it is in its entirety:

"This is the story of one of America's great unsung heroes. I mean you've seen him, but you never knew who he was. You've cheered for him and cried for him, and women have wanted to die for him. But did he ever get any credit? or the girl? No! He's what we call the "Stuntman", and the reason I'm talking so fondly about him is, well because it's me, Colt Seavers. Anyway, picture work isn't wall-to-wall employment, so maybe you wonder how a guy keeps his head together? Well, one way is to wait by the phone, and wait, and wait. The other is to take an occasional job with the court system of the United States of America where a man is considered innocent until proven guilty. Unfortunately sometimes a lot of these people get out of jail on what we call bail, and they run like hell!...and that's where I come in. I sometimes pick up rent money trying to find them and bring them back to justice."

Thank you Whitag for clearing that up and thank you for writing out the full monolouge sequence!

BTW Whitag,
Do you have any theories as to why these shows are not currently being re-run?!!

reply

I wish I knew why it wasn't being shown. My only guess is that though it's a classic, it probably doesn't have quite the following that some of the other classic 80's shows might have. So I don't think the TV stations are too eager to show it at this time. I wish TBS or Spike would pick it up, even if it's only being shown early in the morning. If the movie ever comes out, then we should see the reruns back on the air as the TV stations will try to profit off the mainstream popularity.

If memory serves the full version was in the either two hour or two part piolet episode along with the 'monologe' For one reason or another (other that being a die hard fan of the show) i've been racking my brain for the words myself. Anyway what new news if any is there for the new movie, please dont tell me the ideas been scrapped.

I thought the only time the entire song was played, was when Colt lost a bet to Howie, and had to sing the songin front of a crowd. I'm not too sure it wasn't supposed to happen in Nashville.

I have the theme song saved on my computer. If you want it just ask and I can send it.
Hope this helps

That last verse with Burt sounds kind of familiar. But that one before it doesn't ring a bell at all.
