I remember an episode that I watched in either '84 or '85 where Howie and Jody are involved in a car stunt, driving a 4-wheeler or something, when a sniper shoots out one of their tyres and the vehicle crashes. They both receive severe injuries and in hospital, they both break down in tears, realising how close to death they were. In this same ep, Colt looks at film footage of the crash to see how the accident had happened and finds out it was a bullet that caused it.
I remember another episode which featured Robert Davi as a vicious sheriff.

1.)Howie was injured severely in that episode and he was at death's door. The episode that you recall is the second episode that aired of season three and it was a CROSSOVER two-part episode. Part one was an episode of "The Fall Guy" titled "Trauma" and part two was the episode "Notes About Courage" which was an episode of a short-lived spinoff show called "Trauma Center." Part two aired the next evening.
2.) Robert Davi played the evil cop in season four's "Dead Bounty" with Denny Miller("The Incredible Hulk: The Harder They Fall") and Michael J. Pollard("Lost in Space: The Magic Mirror", "Star Trek: Miri", "Bonnie & Clyde"). Bond baddie Davi was also in a "Fall Guy" season two episode called "The Molly Sue" which was a great one since Colt and his friend actually KILLED the bad guys in a helicopter chase.
I have all of these episodes and most of the entire series on mint LPP uncut 16mm(from 35mm) film prints and I love them all. "Trauma" was edited down majorly for rerun syndication as a one hour episode. My uncut film of "Trauma" is great since it has a nice trailer narrated by William Conrad("Cannon", "Jake and the Fat Man", narrator of the 1960's classic TV series "The Fugitive") where he says: "Howie fights for his life tomorrow night on TRAUMA CENTER", etc. I wonder if the DVD release will have the syndicated one hour version or the two hour two parter? I would bet money that it will be the syndicated edited one hour version since part two was an episode of a different series. I'll be impressed if Fox goes the extra mile and gives us a "bonus episode" on "The Fall Guy" third season DVD set of "Trauma Center." The conclusion of that teleplay is really exciting!
I remember seeing the fall guy episode of the "crossover" (where the two of them are injured. Lou Ferrigno lifting both out of the truck. what a power move) but didn't see the "trauma center" (starring Lou Ferrigno) because it was on a different station that we didn't have. never knew if they had survived it or not.
