Truck Jump
During the main titles I saw Colt's truck jump a bus at night (I have no idea waht season it was from). It was absolutely incredible. Does anybody know what episode this was from?

shareFor the 5th time, that stunt is from the first season episode(#14 in aired order) "READY, AIM...DIE!!!!" It guest stars Mary Crosby, the woman who was revealed to have shot J.R. a season before.
Great stunt and only used in the SEASON TWO opening titles. Soon it will be on DVD("Ready, Aim...DIE!!!") like in mere days.
I'm interested to hear what people's favourite truck jumps are. So far for me it's the nightime jump over a bus from "Ready Aim Die" simply because there's something about performing the stunt at night that makes it more memorable. Also I like jump in front of the Porsche from "The Rich Get Richer" and in the Season 2 credits Colt's Truck fly's through what looks like a wooden tower or a fence.
shareI like the jump in front of the Porsche the best, the truck must've been wrecked after that jump, no doubt about it. :P
I just got the DVD set today so I've not had a chance to review all the eps yet, and it's been years since I've seen the show, but remember that some of the more spectacular/impossible truck jumps were done with miniatures, especially in later seasons. Two shots come immediately to mind: One when they jump over a train and another over a lake with a boat and a guy fishing. All models, usually 1/8th scale.
The model shots were done by the late Jack Sessums and his crew of "Sessums Engineering, who also did the unfortunately never talked about miniature work for a lot of shows at the time such as "Airwolf", "Knight Rider", and even later seasons of "The Dukes Of Hazzard". Believe it or not, there are a lot of shots that were done with miniatures that most people think were done with real cars. But it was cheaper to throw a scale model off a miniature cliff than to wreck a real vehicle.
Another pretty cool jump was in the episode "Child's Play" where the truck apparently jumped over a moving car and landed ahead of it. That was the kind of jump that had me saying "Whoa".
