Such a good premise for a show...

I was honestly too young to really appreciate it... and the show, by today's standards, probably wasn't the greatest...

But I'd actually love to see the show reinvented for TV. And I wouldn't want the show to be too flashy... I think it should be character driven and really show the life of a stuntman trying to make a living -- doing the private stuff on the side to earn extra cash.

I have know memory of the original show, but I'm guessing there wasn't much of a mythology to the main character. I'm assuming it was basically stand-alone and formulaic. Each week was a different mystery.

What I really liked about the show: The entire "I am doing all the dangerous stuff that you like so much but I never get the fame, you cheer to the movie star instead" thang. It needs some attitude and Colt definately had it. I also liked that he was short on money and needed his second job. And that something goes wrong or not like it was planned very often. Often they would lose a fight, or a chase. You could related to their lives even if you are nothing like a stuntman. And they were always able to maintain style. They also worked good as a team, in Howie and Jody he had some great sidekicks. My favourite part of every show was when Howie told us that he studied a semester of [insert whatever is needed right now]. Oh and of course the introduction of each episode that tries to "trick" you into believing he is in danger and then it turns out to be a stunt for a movie ... classic!
