Colt and Jody

In Season 1 it's hinted that Colt and Jody are a couple. In the pilot episode she gets defensive when Howie asks if she and Colt are an item. Also during a skydiving stunt she freaks out when Colt appears to be injured. I don't know if anything like that happened later seasons though. What do you guys think?

reply

More than likely if they do decide to make a movie out of this classic show they may figure in to make Colt and Jodi to have feelings toward each other. Who knows what they will do in Hollywood you know. It has been so long since I have seen all of the rest of the shows on TV that I tend to forget if anything happened between Colt and Jodi. The last time I saw it on TV was when FX use to show a lot of the great shows of the past before they went with the programs of today.

I love it when Colt prtects and defends Jody and Howie when they are in trouble...love the scenes where Colt goes all out to protect and rescue "Jody" after she is grabbed by thugs in season one's "Charlie" and "Strange Bedfellows" from season two...there were other episodes where Colt got REALLY pissed off and kicked the asses OFF of the hoods who threatened his stunt assistants Howie and Jody. This group really was an unconventional family

reply

Yes it was a unconventional family filmsRreel. I agree with you but I think that is what made the show so good and believable you know and held a special bond between the cast members because you can see it when you watch the show. That is what it takes for a great show to last for a long time in my opinion. Why do you think Three's Company lasted so long for?

reply

The only horrible person in the "Three's Company" cast was Suzanne Somers, the selfish bitch. Her Malibu house burned down for a reason...she had it coming for being such an aresehole

reply

I totally agree with you on that filmsRreel about Suzanne Somers. She was very selfish and only thought of herself and no one else. She could have really cost the show some major ratings on the stunts that she pulled. I did not mean to use Three's Company as an example but I was trying to make a point you know and I hope it helped out to a certain aspect.

I just agreed with you and Anni that Doug Bar made the show great to watch and did not like that he did not make a special appearance on the featurette. I mean come on with todays technology they could have figured something out to have Mr. Bar talk about how it was like to work with Lee Majors, Glen Larson, and Heather Thomas. I was thinking even if the film studio had to send a film crew to film Doug Bar's comments about the show.

This is just a few ideas you know or even if Doug Bar had a film crew from where ever he was working at did some video and sent it to the company to put his 2 cents of his experience. Just some ideas here. I would have loved it more if he appeared on the featurette.

reply

I figure that Doug Barr refused comment. I may be wrong, but it's a hunch.

reply

That is not good to hear at all you know because he was one of the key elements of the show that made it a hit during the 80's! He should have at least commented about the show you know.

Looking at it through 2014 eyes, I'd lean towards 'Friends with Benefits'... with the shared House, Colt's bath tub in the front yard; it's hard to imagine they had never seen each other nude at the very least

recently watching the Pilot; her defensiveness at Howie implying it was a 'Sugar Daddy' situation; and because he was eyed her up like a piece of Meat when they clarified their status

-- at that point Howie assumed Colt was as Rich and Famous as the actors he doubled; and he didn't know Jody was a serious Stunt Woman... so looking at them he saw Rich Middle aged Man and hot young Blonde and did the Math (wrong of course)

and yes, IF remade today either as a series revival, or a direct (as opposed to Parody like Dukes) film adaptation would definitely make them lovers or at least Former lovers

reply

Granted it's been a while since I've seen the show, but I've recently been rewatching the first season and nowhere do I see any sign of "Friends with Benefits."

Not sure about later seasons, but from what I recall, Colt and Jody were just co-workers and friends. Of course, I was a kid back then when I first watched 'The Fall Guy' so if there was anything else going on, I would probably have been too young to catch on

reply

I've been chipping my way through S1, and to me Colt's relationship with Jody is similar to his relationship with Howie; i.e. big brother/mentor.

I agree. I finished the second season and there still haven't been any signs of anything remotely romantic between Colt and Jody.

That would make it a must miss as far as I'm concerned. They respected each other as platonic room mates and shared a special bond as co-workers. Why in the world should they bring sex into it?
