*SPOILER*

Read the trivia section..its pretty much explained. I was kind of like "WTF?" as well...but thought exactly what the trivia said...he drives off the bridge & commits suicide...an explosion is heard but then comes the pretend "flying" scene...maybe the producer/director thought Harry was so likable, seeing his death would've been a "no no"...

I too thought it was very silly and weird. But I would like to say, as a logical solution, that that was a symbolic moment. I believe Harry did fly off the edge of the road and crash and died, and what we saw was basically his spiritual dreams of whatever he had left that still made him feel like he really was Santa Claus and would fly as far as he could into the moonl ight before his soul completely crossed over. Poor Harry, but he was crazy.

I'm going to agree with you. He flew away in my eyes.

Don't listen to anyone else in this thread, they don't know the tune. You've got the notes figured out, you can almost play the tune.

I saw it yesterday.
I read so many comments on this board about how bad the ending is, that I expected the worst... but actually I liked it. I thought it would be something botched, like Harry dying suddenly, but actually that was a kind of weird but beautiful ending. I liked it very much, it was surprising but in the direct continuation of what we saw before. Yeah, a nice ending, considering that this movie has few slasher elements in it but many scenes that look like a family movie about a poor nice guy who only wants to make Santa exist.
