Is This a Slasher Movie?
Well, the subject says it all. I just want to know if this is a slasher movie or not. So if anybody could give me some feedback about this movie I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

shareI haven't seen it yet, but from what I've read, it's moreso a character study with some slasher elements.
shareNot really. It is more of a character study (the lead character gradually lapses into insanity) but there are a few slasher moments, including one scene that comes totally out of the blue. The film for the most part is slow-paced, but there are some very funny moments arising from the lead actor's totally over-the-top performance. If you're in the mood for a laugh, check it out.

LocoArts, it's on Fearnet On Demand at the moment.
For me, this had more the flavor of "Maniac" than of, say, "Silent Night, Deadly Night", despite the number of elements SNDN seems to have "borrowed". Not a formula slasher in itself (at least by my definition) but certainly a worthy ancestor.
HAHA. I just watched this yesterday on demand actually. Aaaaannnndd I'm gonna have to say it was definitely what I expected. I've never seen an ending to a movie that bad. The sad thing is I'd probably watch it again for comedic value.
"I will show you fear in a handful of dust."
noWhen there's no more room in hell, The dead will walk the earth...
No, it's more of a character study of a deeply troubled man with a decidedly unhealthy fixation on Santa Claus.
I've been chasing grace/ But grace ain't easy to find
