How many..

How many pounds of cocaine do you think was used during the writting of the screenplay for Xanadu?

seeing as how absurdly bizarre this movie is, I'd say they were using acid

reply

Acid is to 60's, the 80's was all about cocaine, and a little about ninjas, but mostly cocaine.

Yeah but it was majorly psychedelic and bizarre. I would not say this movie captures the essense of the 80's at all. It was more like some hippy who was a big fan of the twilight zone wrote it.

So let's say one pound of cocaine on every third pound of LSD.

ok I guess that's a fair compromise lol

LOL!!

I saw this pick for the first time in decades. I always wondered what that strange aura was around ONJ, now I know it was the coke!

Still, I think the drug of choice (and what was popular back then) would probably be quaaludes. Personally, I wouldn't want to drop acid and watch this film (especially during the All Over the World sequence!).

Dude....Quaaludes? "Vitamin Q" was the early 70's, wasn't it.

But as to what fueled the writing of this script, I think it was plain old stupidity.

They wanted to make a musical but nobody knew how (not talking about the original script writers but the "Script Doctors" who took over - most of which should change their names to Mengala)
