Do you think they should try remaking Xanadu? I think with musicals being big again and if they got a good cast it would do pretty good. I know it will not be the same without Olivia Newton-John but they could have her do like a cameo appearance. I don't know, what do you think? And who should play who?
It's so over-the-top that it doesn't seem likely that a good movie can be made from this source material. I haven't seen the Broadway musical, but while it i suppod to be good, I imagine that's partly just because some of this ridiculousness plays better onstage. The story itself is probably too poor for another film attempt, yet just as I write that, they may be planning a film while neglecting some better ideas like Wicked.

The problem with the original film was that it took itself too seriously, or at least appeared to.

I recently read an article that there is a remake in it's very early stages!
It said that Sony is planning on filming a hyper-stylized reboot of Xanadu.
How exciting!
