I will check for this, but as I am watching this now.
I noticed something I didn't before in the first scene when the Nine Muses leap off the wall. --Right at the Beginning--
Two of them flashes their credentials, and I thought I noticed that they weren't wearing any panties under their skirts.
Thought it was childrens film.
Not that I am complaining, it just comes as a little surprise my eyes aren't playing tricks on me.
But I will see if they have that scene on the you tube, just to be be sure;)
I just found the video and watched sequence again.
Disspointed that I might have been mistaken, of course somebody with this DVD and good DVD player or even Blue-Ray might get better picture.

I just saw the the scene in question.
I didn't notice any differance or signifiacant reduction in quality with the wall painting.
The jumping throught eh wall it's symbolism I guess.
As is the paiting and the way the Muses came alive from it.
But I wont' try to explain my own take on this just yet.
Though you could imagine it 's similer to the Matrix.
How some people are asleep, trapped in the illusion and can be awakened and encouraged to manipulate the illusion.
Maybe that wall thing is just symbolic entrance to another world the artist wouldn't normally enter..
Sort of like the Girls locker room.

The image is more indistinct, possibly resembling any nine women of the same shape, height and size.
I think it may be on purpose, soemthing to do with the girls leaping off the painting ealrier.
Though I know wonder if their image disppaered completely or not when that did earlier.
I will go back and look at the earlier video.
Otherwise, I think it's the best explanation.
Might be some thing like horror story about the paitning of noble man getting uglier every time he murders, rapes, steals, lies, and indulges.
Might be the reason why they leave the painting, to indulge in earthly pleasures as well as what they are meant to be doing.
Maybe their time on earth is measure by the condition of their mural.
They run out of time when it completely fades.
They also say in the triva section that the picture is not actualley painted on that wall. It was never there, it's just another digital efffect.
If it is, then it's a good one.
Your eyes were playing tricks. None of the Muses were without undies although there were two distinct styles in use. Most wore standard ballet leotards, a couple wore pantaloons that went down to above the knees.

The 9 sisters muse wall art didn't seem any different from the first scene ( to me anyway I will have to watch this again very soon - no problem for me it's my # 1. favorite movie of all time ! ) . I guess I wqas wrong about my earlier cliam of nudity.
I could make out the panty lines this time round. Thoungh the panties were defintely coloured in a skin tone.

I watching some American cable show called "The Man Show" just recently and noticed they had these female models wearing similer types of flimsy clothing with seethru leotards with a mere sprinkle of glitter covering their private parts.

3 years later, but I wanted to mention that there IS nudity in another family film, "Can't Stop The Music". If you pause at times during "YMCA", it's there; Valerie Perrine's nipples in the hot tub and penises fully shown during the shower scenes. And one guy has an erection! Ugh.
