Is it possible to read Brian Clemen's original script anywhere?

I'd like to read just how dark and creepy it originally was supposed to be since, according to the trivia section, it is the version that the director was most interested in filming.

Anyone know..?

The director didn't have the time or resources to make the film he invisioned, due to conflicts with production companies and other films he was working on. He talks alot about that in the commentary of the Anchor Bay DVD. It's sad because he seems so disappointed and still believes it could have been a much better movie if he'd been given free reign. I still think it's a good movie despite that. But artists are never satisfied anyway, they always want to make it better.

As for the script, I have no idea if there's a copy anywhere.

...if there was ever a movie that ought to be remade, it would be this one. But then that's only if a quality director comes around. Today it seems like most films are directed by amateurs, or directors who don't have a true talent for classic material. It's really saddening how films have become in recent years. TWitW would be awesome if it could be made the way it should've been though..

I don't know if i would like to see this movie remade. Part of the scariness of this movie is the gauzy lighting and blurred images, because back in the day they filmed on FILM, not digital, so these days everything is so crisp. I'm sure they will someday in the future, since they remake everything it seems like.

Exactly why so many films of today are inferior. They have no atmosphere and nothing looks tangible anymore. I agree 100%.

Like Steven Spielberg said in an article, back in the day, when you sat in the theatre and looked up at all the movement on the screen, it's like the film was alive!
