Hi, I am trying to remember a movie I saw in the early 80's which sounds a bit like this but I am not sure b/c the movie I remember ended with a girl flying away in a helicopter or small plane after almost burning in a fire like someone else had years ago. I remember it having a spooky / ghost feel. I remember a fireplace being involved. Anyone have any idea what I am talking about? It was a movie I saw on HBO when I was about 4 (so it would have been 1985).

What about The Amazing Mr Blunden. That is all about going back in time where children meet some ghosts who died in a fire and it ends in the fire (can't remember the Helicopter though).

u do guys know a movie where it looks around the late 70's or early 80 and in the begining the movie its start with the girl and her house is in the woods and some drifter came by and killed her family and her but she left a locket and a doll also and then later on in the movie it shows this boy with his older sister and later on in the downstairs of house and when they went down they looks like a tunnel and had gold they to so i have no idea what the name of the movie is so can help me because it been bother me for years

I believe the movie you are talking about is called "Child of Glass". Hope this helps!

This movie is not "Child of Glass." It's called "Mystery Mansion."

To the OP - The movie you're describing definitely sounds like Paperhouse. Great little horror film.
