Bud and Pam

I was just wondering if anyone else thought it strange that Uncle Bob and Aunt Corrine were completely OK with Pam so quickly after Bud and Sissy split?

Bud and Sissy had just gotten married, and were on the outs in no time. Then in comes Pam, and it seems they are all having more fun than ever.

I don't know. Bud seems happy to be rid of Sissy so perhaps they just want Bud to be happy. But it seems to me that Uncle Bob would've given Bud the "swallow your pride" speech a lot sooner, but that didn't happen until Bud nearly lost Sissy for good.

I don't know.

Well, they were polite to her but it's not like they treated her as they do family or anything (although we didn't really see *that* much interaction between them).

Additionally I think they probably were just stuck in a hard position--what are they supposed to do? Sissy was in their lives for something like a month total (that includes their entire courtship) before the marriage blew up and she was gone--Pam and Bud were together longer than Bud and Sissy even knew each other as far as we could see. I just don't feel there was a solid or lengthy enough foundation there for his aunt and uncle to do much other than be nice.

I think Bob didn't give him the speech sooner because he probably didn't want to interfere and perhaps didn't really realize how much Bud really did miss Sissy until they were talking that night.

Just my guesses/thoughts. :)

It wasn't me who was murdered, was it?

Yeah that was always something that bothered me/confused me. At the funeral, Sissy said she loved Uncle Bob, and in return froom his aunt she got "He loved you too I hope you know that" -----yet they didnt even question the whole Pam thing and acted like everything was normal. There should have bee a tiny bit in the scene when Pam first goes over there for Pie where they at least ask what happened ??

Well, they kinda did say something to him when they called and asked him to come to dinner and then desert when he said he couldn't come. I assume Uncle Bob called and asked if he was alone and then if it was Sissy because you hear Bud say "no, it's not Sissy." So, maybe that was there attempt to say something but still wanted to stay in Bud's good graces so were polite.
