I'm curious if I am the only one who thinks this........after Bud wins the bullriding competition and he's hugging Pam, Wes drags Sissy out. Bud turns around to where she was standing looking for her. There are two guys cheering and the one on the right, I swear looks like Kenny Chesney. Take off the hat, hair and mustache and just watch his face. I've watched it several times in slow motion and I'm dang near convinced it's him. This was in 1981 before his music career would have started. He could have been an extra but not significant enough to be in the credits. Next time you watch--see what YOU think!

Kenny Chesney was born March 26, 1968.

(Urban Cowboy was actually released in 1980 so he would have been 12)

My ex-wife told me about times her family went to Gilley's when she was a kid. They had family nights there

Kenny was too young, besides...when Kenny goes out he prefers places like the Blue Iguana!

It's a fair assessment. I have watched this movie about 10 times in my life, and i don't remember that particular scene of possibly seeing Kenny Chesney, but i am convinced everyone has a doppleganger out there. He couldn't have been Kenny, as he was about 12 at the time, but perhaps you have a keen eye for the country guy. (rimshot!) Thank you!
