Bud is just as big of a (if not bigger) crapbag as Wes is

Think about it, Wes smacked Sissy around but Bud did too. Wes screwed trashy Marsha while he was "with" Sissy, but Bud screwed around on Sissy with Pam. In fact Bud was married at the time so that makes him a bigger crapbag than Wes was. Bud was always high strung and extremely insecure and one of the best scenes is where he starts running his mouth in the diner and Wes beats his ass. I love it, Sissy says "No Bud stop it" He tells her to STFU and Wes tags his ass a couple times sending Bud to the pavement, heck I wished he had thrown in a kick to the ribs. Not so tough now are you Buderick?? Wanna know why Bud chose Sissy over Pam?? Becasue he knew he could pull the crap he can with Sissy and not with Pam. Bud tries to prove to us he is a real "cowboy" but only comes off as a Drugstore Cowboy all the while disgracing real cowboys.

And now onto Sissy, come on have some damn respect for yourself. She must have been a pinball her whole life getting knocked around from side to side and laying down with any loser who could do the Texas 2 Step. She must have lived and ultimately died by the saying "He hits me because he loves me, and I love him because he hits me." Whick also reminds me of a joke: What do you tell a woman who has 2 black eyes??

Nothing, you done told the bitch twice already.

Wanna know how this movie really ended?? Bud and Sissy had sex when they got home, he became enraged the next morning when Sissy got him McDonalds for breakfast and the trailer was back to looking like a pigpen, for the next few years Bud smacked her around and apologized afterwards only to have the beatings come more and more violent and frequently as the weeks passed on. Than 1 night Bud gave her the beating of her life and taking Sissys life with his own hands. Don't believe me?? Than do some research on battered women and their abusive crapbag hubbys/boyfriends.

You are right, there are some very psycho men out there. My ex-b/f was violent and abusive toward me during the two years we were together. He tried to kill
me about three times, and I would try to get away from him. First,it would seem like he wouldn't follow me,but eventually he would, sometimes I think when I
thought he didn't follow me right away that he did but he would be hiding and
watching me. I did send him to jail once, but he got out and was worse than eer. He needed to be institutionalized. I finally left him and have not seen him for almost six months. I hope he gets help because he is really a nice guy,he has a heart of gold, but when he gets mad he is very dangerous...as if possessed by a devil.Sad.

If it's worth repeating,it's worth remembering.

I think the key to this movie is that the main female character is called Sissy, such a babyish name. If the couple sought counseling, the therapist would ask for the reason for that nickname.

That was the gist of the film. Bud was a drinker, and a wifebeater, and jealous. I don't know if he would have gotten jealous if Sissy didn't sneak over to Gilley's to ride the bull, and meet Wes for the first time. When Bud and Sissy were having a competition at Gilley's, Wes said something like, "Remember what i taught you today". Bud put 2+2 together and figured that she and him were together that day. He said, "You lied to me!" She said, "I didn't lie, Bud. I just wanted to come here to ride the bull, that's all!" That set Bud off, thinking she was screwing Wes, and of course Bud was drunk at the time, and when Wes grabbed the bull's controls, turned the Bull 180 degrees, and smacked Bud really good with it, badly injuring his arm, you knew that from that moment on, things were NOT going to be very rosey for that newly married couple. That was the part when they went home, and Bud smacked her, and threw her outta the trailer.
