During the credits the songs in the film are listed in the order in which they were played. Just look at the end credits to narrow down at what point in the film it was played. I do not know that song so I cannot help you more than that even though I have seen this a hundred times.
I believe it is also possible that the song was in a scene which was cut or in an alternate edition (like the TV cut). I do not know offhand whether songs are left in the credits if the scenes are cut or alternated, but it's possible.
Why do you need to know so desperately which specific scene the song was played in? i am just curious...
It wasn't me who was murdered, was it?
thanks for the reply!
well, it is just that as I explained above, it is my favourite song of the soundtrack, and I never heard it during the movie, so it surprised me to see it listed in the credits, and even though I made a quick search throughout the film looking for the song, I could never found it, plus I have a form of OCD and I don't like the fact that I never found the part of the movie where this song is supposedly heard lol
This is the song I am talking about in case you wanna hear it, it is nice

Oh, okay. Got it. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful but I'm guessing once you check the order it'll help.
Another thing is that sometimes songs are on a movie soundtrack but are NOT ever played in the movie. I have never quite understood why this happens but it does. However I don't know whether those songs are still listed in the credits or not.
Let me know what you find! Good luck!

I re-examined the movie and couldn't find the song "nine tonight" being played....so I guess, either there's a longer unknown version of the film which includes other unseen scenes including this song, or the song is just credited in the film, though only available in the soundtrack cd of the movie, as a plus or an extra song......sniff sniff....SNORT!

I believe that it is playing during the time they were at the diner the night that Bud & Wes fight.
shareI think I have the explanation to all this tangle.
The other night I caught up the movie on tcm or some channel and noticed that there were scenes that I hadn't seen on the one that I had downloaded. So I guess I downloaded a cut version, thus not all scenes are included, explaining why I never heard the song.
Unfortunately, I could never make it to hear the song that night, because it was in the wee hours, I was tired and fell asleep. Damn it!

According to the closing credits, the Bob Seger song lies in between the Eagles' "Lyin' Eyes" (the scene where Sissy gets slapped for pinching Bud) and Anne Murray's "Could I Have This Dance" (Bud and Sissy's wedding). Unfortunately, after watching and listening carefully, it appears that the song wasn't used in either sequence. An instance where a song on the soundtrack album was not heard in the final print.

thanks!

I actually avoided buying what turned out to be 3 soundtrack albums from URBAN COWBOY because I wanted to remember the songs as they appear in the film. Naturally, once I heard Bob Seger's lone contribution, I'd never heard it before, never issued on any other release.
