The Girl initially friends with Sissy

1) Why would Bud question Sissy about hanging out with her (during the scene after he gets hurt and she's not at the house)? True it opens up the can of worms for us viewers to see that he may find out about what she was really doing but she was with Jessie from start and never saw a scene (unless it was cut) where she claimed to him that she was not cool with Jess anymore.

2) Does she work at Gilly's? I ask due to fact she was one of the few girls (like Sissy) allowed to hang around the bar during closure and ride the bull.

3) Who is this actress who plays her? See this was only role she ever portrayed and ironically the real Jessie is named the same. So that probably goes back to my 2nd question that perhaps this girl was a waitress with the bar or someones daughter. Does anyone have anymore background to who she is and how she got involved with this project.

Bumped for answer to my first question ~

I found out that she worked at Gilley's but wonder if she ever tried to consider getting into acting or whatever became of her? Sure those who resided in that area perhaps could answer that one best for me.

Jesse was one of the many extras who used their own names in the film, Gator was another one. Apart from Travolta and Winger, only Scott Glenn and James Gammon seemed to have done anything prior to UC. These were native Texans, real people who lived in or around Houston. The film comes off as so true to life, especially the scenes at Gilley's where everyone's dialogue runs all over each other's. Every time I watch it, I still hear things I hadn't heard before, and I've seen it at least 30 times over the years(and me being a horror fan weaned on CHILLER THEATER!)

She was not an actress but one of the "regulars" chosen to be featured in the film. As far as from what I have READ she was Not an employee of Gilley's but a regular patron. She was also pregnant during the filming and was almost replaced as Sissy's friend. I think she was replaced but then she bounced backed really quick and they decided to keep her on the shoot. Look at some of the dance scenes in the beginging and look at what she is wearing and then look at the deleted scenes where she is sitting off to the left side of the screen during Wingers bull riding deleted scene. Obviously pregnant but you have to really look. To add more to the Jessie story she was also written about by Latham the writer before filming ever took place so that tells us that she wasa notable Gilley's person. She was also involved in a real fight during production.

I figured that since Sissy was from the area, she knew more people there than Bud did. Bud's trip to Houston seemed to take all day.

Sissy trusted Jessie with her car at the end of the picture.
