So whats happening with the remake

There comes a time to put away childhood things. But some things just won't stay put!
Apparently it's on the fast track, though I haven't heard anything myself since 2003? When it was first announced? Some remakes promised don't seem to be going anywhere, but now since 20th Century Fox's earlier remake WHEN A STRANGER CALLS turned out to be a success, they get to a new 'Terror Train' within the next couple years.
Either this first or PORKY'S. If so, hopefully this one is the one remade.

I don't think it'll take a few more years, I keep hearing the remake is on the "fast track" as someone else said, which means they're going to get started on it ASAP. It might be out by the end of this year.
