second impressions (SPOILERS)

I recently purchased Terror Train having last seen it when I was eight or nine(I probably saw it on cable in 81'). The only thing I remember from the original was the killer with the mask chasing Jamie Lee Curtis and tormenting her in the cage(quite frightening!). I have to say, that considering the film was made in 80' I was quite impressed. Even thogh you get a hint of who the killer might be in the beginning, you're a bit confused when the magician scenario comes into play, and it leads you into some fun scenarios. The plot at times was a bit thin, but I had no problem with the killer dying at the end, by falling into the icy river/ravine. I thought the killer played a perfectly demented individual when sitting with Jamie Lee and asking her to relive the tragic joke gone wrong by her kissing him (I was waiting for him to kill her right there). It could have been better, but I thought the diguises were stll quite effective all these years later. I'll give it 3 1/2 stars out of five.

Horror movies, or any movies for that matter seem to be even more effective depending on when you see it during your life, for example, when I saw Terror Train at age eight, it was 1980 not 2007, times and kids have changed alot since then, as a child (in 1980) we were'nt exposed to tons of media/images. So remember, it's not only about the movie, but the time in life that people are fond of also.
