Ok, where's the watch now?

Earlier on the night Elise dies she gives Richard the watch. Eight years later he goes back in time. He hands the 1912 Elise the watch right before he sees the 1979 penny which thrusts him out of that era back to 1979, but without the watch. It's 1979, where is the watch? It's not like it could just magically appear back with Elise's estate.

I am sure this has been discussed to death but to make it short and simple since a paradox was created by Richard going back in time, the watch is now in an endless time loop.

She gives him the watch, he goes back, leaves the watch, she gives him the watch, etc. BUT where did the watch come from in the first place? Blows your mind thinking about it.

In the book, Elise buys it for Richard.

Eventually the watch would fall apart though as it keeps getting older with each loop.
